Warranty
Your PortaSplit unit is backed by both Midea's manufacturer warranty and your EU statutory consumer rights. This page explains both clearly.
Manufacturer warranty
All Midea PortaSplit products sold through portaspliteu.com are covered by Midea's standard manufacturer warranty of 2 years from the original date of purchase, subject to the conditions below.
What the warranty covers
- Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship
- Electrical or mechanical component failures under normal operating conditions
- Compressor failures not resulting from external factors or misuse
- Factory refrigerant leaks present at the time of purchase
What is not covered
- Physical damage caused by drops, impacts, or mishandling after delivery
- Damage resulting from improper installation, self-repair, or unauthorised modification
- Water ingress beyond the unit's rated IP protection level
- Consumable parts subject to normal wear (filters, seals, remote-control batteries)
- Damage from power surges, incorrect voltage, or use outside specified operating conditions
- Any interference with the refrigerant circuit by uncertified persons
Refrigerant handling must always be carried out by a certified F-Gas technician. Tampering by uncertified individuals voids the warranty and may be illegal under EU F-Gas regulations.
EU legal guarantee of conformity
Independently of the manufacturer warranty, EU consumer law grants you a 2-year legal guarantee of conformity from the date of delivery. If the product is defective at delivery or becomes non-conforming within this period, you are entitled to repair, replacement, a price reduction or contract rescission β at no charge to you.
How to make a warranty claim
- Email support@portaspliteu.com with your order number, a clear description of the defect, and photos or video where possible
- We will respond within 2 business days with the appropriate next steps
- Do not attempt self-repair before contacting us β unauthorised repair work may void the warranty
- For valid claims, we will arrange collection and return logistics at no cost to you
Warranty service area
Warranty claims are handled remotely wherever possible to minimise inconvenience. Where an on-site visit or return shipment is required for a valid claim, we will coordinate and cover the cost of logistics.
